Equine-assisted Therapy - $0 BUPA ADF, Open Arms, and NDIS participants

Private clients: $300.00 You may be able to claim a Medicare rebate with a mental health care plan from your GP.

Equine-assisted therapy is a form of therapy incorporating the natural environment and horses to support a client's psychological wellbeing. A sense of safety - both physical and emotional - forms the basis of equine-assisted therapy. By experiencing and learning how horses soothe their nervous system, clients can learn to develop these skills for themselves. For some clients, the freedom of just being outside and side by side with the therapist, rather than posisitoned facing the therapist in a room, can reduce the intensity of the interaction, thereby increasing a sense of safety and enabling change.

There is no out of pocket expense for NDIS participants, BUPA ADF referrals, Open Arms referrals, or DVA card holders. Private clients may be able to claim a Medicare rebate with a GP referral.
